Bitcoin Jumps 22 Percent in a Week, Climbing Past 77,000 Dollars as CLARITY Act Momentum Builds
A sharp weekly rally carried Bitcoin back above 77,000 dollars, driven by renewed policy optimism in Washington and a broader return of risk appetite across crypto markets.
Bitcoin staged one of its strongest weeks of the year, surging roughly 22 percent to trade back above 77,000 dollars, as optimism about friendlier regulation and shifting macroeconomic conditions pulled buyers back into the market.
The move marked a sharp reversal from the start of the week, when the largest cryptocurrency was hovering near 62,800 dollars, and it lifted the wider market as Ethereum and XRP joined the advance alongside it.
What drove the rally
Traders pointed to renewed momentum behind the CLARITY Act, a legislative effort to define clearer rules for digital assets in the United States, as a central catalyst for the sudden burst of aggressive buying.
Political signals added fuel, with public support from the White House feeding a narrative that Washington is moving toward a more accommodating stance on crypto after years of uncertainty and enforcement driven headlines.
Macroeconomic conditions played their part as well, as softer bond yields made riskier assets more attractive and encouraged investors to rotate back into the higher volatility corners of the financial market.
Regulation takes center stage

The rally coincided with a wave of regulatory activity, including a Securities and Exchange Commission proposal for a tailored framework that would offer specific exemptions and an allowance for smaller startup fundraising.
For an industry that has spent years asking for clear rules of the road, the prospect of a defined framework has become as important to sentiment as any single price level or technical chart pattern.
Supporters argue that clarity could unlock institutional participation that has been waiting on the sidelines, while skeptics caution that details, timelines and enforcement will ultimately decide whether the optimism is justified.
A rally with caveats
Despite the strong week, Bitcoin remains well below its 2026 high near 94,820 dollars reached in mid January, and further still from its all time high above 126,000 dollars set late last year.
That gap is a reminder that crypto rallies can be swift and emotional, and that a single week of gains, however dramatic, does not by itself confirm a durable change in the longer term market trend.
Analysts note that sentiment in the sector can swing quickly between fear and greed, and that price moves tied to political headlines are especially vulnerable to reversal if the underlying legislation stalls in Congress.
For now, the surge has restored a measure of confidence to a market that spent much of the year on the defensive, even as investors weigh how much of the fresh optimism is already priced in.
